阮曾媛琪教授現任香港理工大學副校長(學生及環球事務)。阮教授先後獲得香港大學社會工作學士、多倫多大學社會工作碩士丶曼徹斯特大學教育碩士,以及香港大學哲學博士學位。阮教授於1986年加入香港理工大學,任教應用社會科學系。
 
阮教授積極參與香港社會服務,曾任香港社會工作人員協會主席 (2000-2004),現任多個政府諮詢委員會、社會服務機構及基金會理事成員。於2002年獲香港特區政府委任為太平紳士,並於2008年獲頒發銅紫荊星章。
 
1980年代開始,阮教授積極參與內地社會工作專業化及持續發展。現為內地多個政府機構、基金會及學術機構的理事或顧問,包括中華全國婦女聯合會、中國宋慶齡基金會、中國社會工作協會等。
 
阮教授在國際社會工作教育亦擔當重要角色,曾擔任國際社會工作學校聯會(IASSW)主席,帶領聯會在發展中國家開辦專業課程,促進社工教育發展。

Prof. Angelina Yuen is Vice President (Student and Global Affairs) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).  Prof. Yuen obtained a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Social Work and Sociology from the University of Hong Kong, a Master in Social Work from University of Toronto, a Master in Education from University of Manchester, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Social Work and Social Administration) from HKU.  Prof.Yuen joined PolyU in 1986, and taught at the Department of Applied Social Sciences.
 
Prof. Yuen extensively participates in various social activities in Hong Kong.  She was President of the Hong Kong Social Workers Association (2000-2004), and has served as a board member of numerous Government commissions, NGOs and charitable foundations. She was appointed as a Justice of the Peace in 2002 and received the Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2008.
 
Prof. Yuen has been actively involved in the development of the social work profession in the Chinese mainland since the late 1980s.  She holds many honorary positions in the Chinese mainland and is Executive Committee member of the All-China Federation of Women, Council member of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, Advisor of the China Social Workers’ Association, and etc.
 
In the international arena, Prof. Yuen is a key player in international social development.  She was elected President (2008-2012) of the International Association of Schools of Social Work. She has initiated numerous capacity building programmes for social work professionals in many developing countries.
